Your Nurse Australia is looking for multiple Registered Nurses to work contracts based in rural and regional Northern Territory.

The role

  1. Primary health care: treating everyday illnesses, chronic disease management (e.g. diabetes, kidney health, cardiovascular), immunisations, health promotion, etc.

  2. Emergency care / first-response: stabilising patients, managing emergencies until retrieval or higher-level care arrives.

  3. Working with limited resources, often with minimal on-site medical support, sometimes alone or as part of a small team.

  4. Cultural competency: often working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, so respecting culture, working with local health workers or Aboriginal Health Practitioners; adjusting to local customs and communication styles.

  5. Travel & outreach: travelling to remote clinics or households, sometimes by small plane or 4WD. Occasionally “fly in, fly out” (FIFO) or providing “out of isolated lands” travel allowances.

About you: 
Previous experience nursing in rural and remote areas.

Essential Criteria: 

  • Remote Emergency Course (REC) Certificate (CRANA) or equivalent.

  • Midwifery Emergency Certificate (MEC)(CRANA), or equivalent 

  • Advanced Life Support 

  • Immunisation Provider Certificate (Understanding Vaccines and the National Immunisation program)

  • COVID Vaccination Certificates for Pfizer and AstraZeneca Vaccines. Including the COVID-19 Vaccine for Children 5 to 11 years Module

  • Current National Criminal History Check (SAFENT)

  • Current Working with Children Card NT (Ochre Card
